Jewellery Care Tips
- Hair dyes and perfumes are a big No No. These chemicals don’t do well for jewellery.
- Do not wear your jewellery when cleaning with harsh chemicals as they can cause irreversible damage to your piece.
- Avoid wearing your jewellery when exercising as sweat can dull the shine of your jewellery.
- Remove jewellery when taking a shower as lotions and soaps can get caught in small spaces.
- Clean your jewellery regularly with mild soap and water using a soft tooth brush. Pat dry with a soft cloth.
- Store jewellery in a clean dry place. Ziploc bags are ideal.
- Your jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. Your clothes can easily get caught in your jewellery and cause it to bend out of shape.
- Wear your pieces with care and treat them well.
How to put on a cuff bracelet
- Hold your cuff bracelet in both hands with fingers near the opening and make sure the opening is facing upwards.
- Gently pull the ends apart and away from each other (widening the opening for your hand) by pulling one hand towards you and pushing the other away from you in opposite directions simultaneously just enough for your wrist to squeeze in.
- Slip your wrist into the cuff with the edge of your wrist first.
- Twist your hand into place and gently squeeze the cuff back in to shape.
- Same applies when removing the cuff bracelet. Simply twist the cuff so that the opening lines up with the edge of your wrist and remove.
Which to wear? Silver or Gold
Which to wear? Silver or Gold
Generally, we tend to choose whether we wear silver or gold jewellery based the clothes we wear. Now this is totally fine but you may also want to consider wearing jewellery that actually suits your skin tone. Take a look.
HOW TO KNOW YOUR SKIN TONE
Take a look at the inside of your wrist, if your veins appear blue or purple then you have a cool skin tone.
If they appear green or olive in colour then your skin tone is warm.
If your veins have a blue-green appearance then consider yourself lucky because you have a neutral skin tone and all metals look good on you.
Cool skin tones – light or white metals such as white gold, platinum and silver look best.
Warm skin tones – yellow gold, rose gold, copper and brass is best.
Neutral skin tone – white metals and yellow metals both look great on you.
